Thanks so much for stopping by. I am Angela from Toronto, Canada, the maker of all handwork labelled Cotton Confections. I was born with a sweet tooth, trained to be a structural engineer, and married a darling husband who always supports my creative endeavors. I love sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet, having a little bit of reading everyday, playing with my camera, taking road trips, visiting used bookstores and rummaging around for vintage goodies. These activities calm my soul and lighten up my weekends and nights. At this moment, I mostly focus on quilting and sewing. It's more than my passion and I can't live without fabrics!
I am the only one in my family who loves sewing and stitching. I was told that my parental grandma was a fantastic dressmaker; but unfortunately I had never seen any of her works. And my mom once told me that in her teenage years she used to be so obsessed with lace crochet, so obsessed that she crocheted under the desk during class; but she doesn't crochet any more. My mom also had the anecdote that when she was about my age, she wanted to learn dressmaking but failed to attach the collar to the neckline and hence stopped sewing ever after. I created this site with the hope that I can begin a family tradition like many of the American families in the past. At the same time, I would love to share with you my DIY spirit and showcase my quilts, home decors and garments.
